Kano State Government Scholarship Team to Sponsor 1,002 Students for Overseas Studies in 2025
The Kano State Government is strengthening its commitment to education by sponsoring 1,002 students for overseas studies in 2025. This follows the successful sponsorship of 1,001 students last year, furthering efforts to provide young people with access to world-class education and global opportunities.
Government’s Commitment to Education
During a courtesy visit by the European Union Delegation ahead of the 2025 Study in Europe Fair in Kano, Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo emphasized the state’s dedication to education.
He highlighted that Kano has given the highest budgetary allocation to the education sector in Nigeria for 2024 and 2025. Additionally, the state has declared a state of emergency in education, ensuring students receive quality education that prepares them for the modern workforce.
Collaboration with the European Union
The European Union Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, announced that the Study in Europe Fair 2025 will be held on February 27, 2025, in Kano. This event brings together European universities and Nigerian students, providing insights into scholarship opportunities, study programs, and student exchange initiatives.
With 20 university representatives from across Europe attending, the event aims to:
