Who Can Apply?

To qualify, applicants must:

• Have international fee status (including EU students required to pay international fees in 2025/26)
• Hold an offer to study an eligible undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, starting in September 2025

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients are selected based on:

• Academic Merit – Applicants must have expected or achieved grades equivalent to GCE A-level grades AAB
• Personal Statement Evaluation – Applicants must demonstrate:
  • Academic and career ambition
  • A clear plan for utilizing the study opportunity
  • A sense of social responsibility
  • A willingness to engage with the Exeter community

Required Documents

Applicants must submit:

• A completed scholarship application form
• A personal statement (max 300 words) answering:
  • What are your ambitions for the future, and how will your studies at Exeter help you achieve them?
  • What will you contribute to the study experience and environment at Exeter?
  • As a scholar, how might you act as an ambassador for the University?

Scholarship Benefits

The Exeter Excellence Scholarships provide a recurring tuition fee discount:

• £3,000 or £5,000 per eligible year of study
• Can be combined with University of Exeter Undergraduate Scholarships for India, China, Turkey, Malaysia, or Thailand, up to a maximum award value of £10,000 per year

Scholarship Duration

• The scholarship is awarded for one year

How to Apply

Once applicants receive an offer for an eligible program, they must submit their scholarship application via the designated webform.

• Round 1 Deadline: Closed on 27 February 2025
• Round 2 Deadline: 22 April 2025
• Notification of Outcome: 14 May 2025
